ABOUT
Hello, I’m Maria N Herrera, Nelly for short. I am a graphic designer that specializes in creating graphically appealing layouts and graphics for media ranging from invitations to online ads. I pride myself on the attention to detail in all of my projects. I love to get creative and give clients exactly what they are searching for. Some of my most recognized work has been logos, menus, and invitations. However, I do not shy away from other media such as painting or photography.
I'm an Illinois Institute of Art - Tinley Park graduate. My most recent field work experience was with Minuteman Press in Bradley and Frankfort, IL. The Bradley shop closed in March of 2019 and I continued at Frankfort afterwards. I’m based out of Peotone, IL and am currently employed at a high school as a bilingual teachers assistant and working freelance as well.
I’m a traveler at heart and have visited 11 different US states. I hope to visit more soon. Besides my creative life, I’m an animal lover, and have been riding horses competitively for the past 20+ years and have even helped coach for a few years. It’s something that connects me to my Mexican roots. My dad has been in the riding world since before I was born and him and my mom have instilled that passion in me. Besides my parents, I have two younger brothers that also share that passion for riding. To top it all off, I have a supportive boyfriend and two awesome stepsons that I love very much. They love me right back, even with all the craziness of the sports they participate in and my summer rodeos.
